When people get into relationships, right off the bat they believe that things will always be as fresh as the moment they fell for each other. And with that in mind, people fear what’s subsequent to that honeymoon stage because they’re afraid once shit hits the fan—That’s it. Nothing can be done to scour what’s remaining of a relationship. But love can be expressed not just during times of happiness, but during hardships especially. The good and bad are part of a relentless fluctuating cycle. People want love but not many will work for it. 

Us as humans demand that things remain anchored. We suspend ourselves to these things because we fear change. We fear freedom. That if we allow our lives to flow as they were meant to, things will end in pandemonium and they can’t be undone. That it’ll be all over from there. The only way anything can prolong is if there’s freedom. That’s the only way anything can grow—without being forced in a certain direction. A relationship cannot be forced.

I think I lost my main point, but I guess what I’m trying to get at is.. In a relationship, too often do we linger on what was or what will be or what should be that we forget to be present in the present. Maybe that’s how things end and maybe it’s not necessarily the fights and arguments that prompted it.
